Nanban (Tamil: நண்பன்; English: Friend) is an upcoming Tamil comedy drama film directed by S. Shankar. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Vijay, Jeeva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj and Ileana D'Cruz. The soundtrack and background score is by Harris Jayaraj, working with Shankar for the second time after Anniyan (2005).It is a remake of the 2009 Bollywood blockbuster film 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, which was adapted from the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. The film will be dubbed into Telugu as Snehitudu. Sound Track/Music
The soundtrack and background score is composed by Harris Jayaraj, working with Shankar for the second time after Anniyan (2005), while scoring for a Vijay-starrer for the first time. The soundtrack, consisting of six original songs, was released on 23 December 2011, at Hindusthan College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore, before Jayaraj's concert, Harris: On The Edge, commenced at the same venue. Lyrics were provided by Pa. Vijay, Viveka, Na. Muthukumar and Madhan Karky, the latter two penning lyrics for two songs each. Notably, Karky's lyrics in "Asku Laska" include more than 16 different languages.

Vijay’s Nanban has taken a Blockbuster Box Office Opening in Tamilnadu. Nanban which was declared as the “most expected film” of 2012 was released in nearly 450 screen in Tamil Nadu alone and in Chennai it was released in 27 screens.
ReplyDeleteAs per official sources Nanban Box Office Collections is expected to be more than 50 Crores in it’s opening Pongal weekend itself. Nanban has got very good reviews both from Film critics and also among people. Family audiences are rushing to theaters to get tickets which is already sold out for the opening week end.
In Nanban Vijay has shed his hero image and live a as Character which is well appreciated by all film critics and his fans. But the truth is by shedding his hero image Vijay has become the real hero in the movie by living the character Panchavan Parivendan.

Nanban , the movie which has the much needed message about the present education system that prevails in India. But it is given with the ingredients of good entertainment.

Jiiva , Srikanth forms a good combination with Vijay . Sathyaraj excels as a Comic Villan role , and Sathyan supports the film so well with his rocking performances. S.J.Suryah, Anuya and Rincent gave a commendable performance.
Hats off Shankar for his excellent transition from Hindi flavors to Tamil flavors. Special thanks to Madhan Karky for the dialogues, and excellent lyrics.
Harris's songs fit the film,. A very good BG score from Harris which supported the film more. Whenever he used “En friend a pola yaru machan” BGM, it gave audience a good feel.
Verdict: Vijay reminds us his vintage charm and glory days when he did these types of romantic and feel good characters that stuck to the minds of the audiences. We can very well say that NANBAN IS A TREAT FOR SOUTH INDIAN VIEWERS.
